Hey, I'm James Michael

About Me!

Hi there - it's nice to virtually meet you!I've gone by many forms of my name over the years - James, Jim, Jimmy - but these days, I find myself preferring my given name: James Michael.I'm genuinely happy and excited you're here and that you want to learn a little about me, my background, and why I created what I call The Aligned Path!If you were to ask me who I am, I'd probably answer with a giggle and simply say, "I Am." That answer reflects years of growth. I wasn't always this grounded.I'm a deeply spiritual, genuine, honest, loving, and endlessly curious person - but I wasn't born that way. Becoming this version of myself took years of searching, learning, making mistakes, and growing through experiences I never expected. For a long time, I felt pulled in a dozen different directions. I spent years trying to figure out what I was "supposed" to do with my life, all while unknowingly living the answer.Looking back, I realized every path I pursued had one thing in common: helping people navigate life's most difficult transitions. For more than twenty years I've worked in healthcare - helping individuals and families navigate rehabilitation services, long-term care, home health, hospice, insurance coverage, and the often-overlooked realities that come with those decisions. I became an ordained minister and started my own ministry. I studied to become an End-of-Life Doula. I've spent years exploring spirituality, philosophy, theology, and the deeper questions of what it means to live a meaningful life.At one point, I described myself as a "Jack-of-all-trades." Today, I see it differently. Every experience was preparing me for the work I do now.I grew up in what I would describe as a chaotic and moderately traumatizing household. Without going into too much detail, those experiences shaped much of how I viewed the world as I entered adulthood.I wasn't always the person I am today. There was a time when I couldn't find any good within the bad or any light within the darkness.Today, I strive to be that light I spent so many years searching for each and every day.Over the years, I realized I have a natural ability to recognize patterns in people and situations. Some people describe it as intuition. Others call it pattern recognition. Whatever the label, I've always been able to see connections that help bring order to what feels like chaos. That ability eventually led me to coaching.I realized I didn't want to tell people how to live their lives - I wanted to help them understand themselves, gain clarity, and move forward with confidence; knowing all they need is within them.Today, I help individuals who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain make sense of where they are and where they want to go. Whether someone is navigating relationship challenges, career decisions, personal growth, or situations involving complex healthcare systems and decisions, my role is the same: to help bring clarity to the chaos.Through my years in healthcare, I developed a deep understanding of three areas that naturally became my focus: relational challenges, career and workplace transitions, and navigating complex healthcare-related decisions and systems. But my journey wasn't only professional - it was deeply personal.Like many people, I eventually found myself overwhelmed, burned out, and disconnected from the life I had built. Stepping away gave me something I hadn't experienced in a long time: space to reflect. That season changed everything. It taught me that what I - and so many others - needed wasn't someone to hand us the answers. We needed someone who could help us slow down, recognize our own patterns, our own thoughts and mindsets, and reconnect with who we truly are beneath the noise. That realization led me to work with a coach myself, and eventually to become a Certified Life Coach.Today, I combine practical, real-world experience with an intuitive, insight-driven approach to help people reconnect with their own inner clarity. I don't believe my role is to tell you what your life should look like. I believe you already possess the answers you're looking for. Sometimes, it simply helps to have someone walk alongside you as you uncover them.At my core, I believe every person deserves clarity, direction, and the opportunity to feel grounded and comfortable in their own life.If our paths have crossed, I hope I can help you find a little more of each.To me, an aligned path isn't about having a perfect life. It's about living in a way that reflects who you truly are, even when life feels uncertain.Thank you for taking the time to learn about me. If you're ready to take the next step, I'd be honored to walk alongside you.
